Dr. Emily Williams

Dr. Emily Williams, an Atlanta native, is a board eligible periodontist and implant surgeon. She graduated summa cum laude from Sewanee: The University of the South, where she earned a Bachelors of Arts in Latin and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She matriculated to the Dental College of Georgia, where she was one of only four percent of students in her class elected to both Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society, and Alpha Upsilon Phi, the national dental service and leadership society. In dental school, she was a writer and editor for Contour, the magazine of the American Student Dental Association, with a column on teeth and art history. She completed her periodontics and implant dentistry residency and Masters of Science in Dentistry at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, one of only two programs in the United States where residents additionally train in periodontal microsurgery. Here she was selected by faculty to become chief resident. She is trained in IV sedation and a comprehensive range of periodontal, soft tissue, and implant procedures.

Dr. Williams is excited to work with Dr. Kramer at West Cobb Periodontics. She loves being a periodontist both for the long lasting relationships formed with patients and being at the cutting edge of dental research. Dr. Williams herself had never heard of the field of periodontics until dental school, so she understands that patients may have many questions!
